Following World War II, the Mercedes 300D was the first Mercedes-Benz to rely on a newly engineered chassis from top to bottom.

Known as an extremely durable car, in 1994 a Greek Taxi driver donated his ’76 240D version to the Mercedes-Benz Museum Collection with 4.6 million Kilometers or 2.8 million miles on it!
