It’s not every day we see a vehicle like this one, a beautiful bright yellow fire truck!
But the story behind the vehicle is perhaps even more amazing.
During Hurricane Sandy thousands of homes and businesses were inundated with flood waters. Before even considering the repairs or even the cleanup, they had to figure out some way to get the water out. Pumping is a complicated process requiring heavy equipment that can often be quite expensive.
One business owner took matters into his own hands in rather ingenious fashion.
He located an old fire truck that was up for sale and immediately purchased it. Using the pumps built into the truck he was able to pump out his warehouse himself!
Left with an old fire truck and nothing to do with it, he made the extremely generous decision of donating it to Kars4Kids.
