Our Little Star Preschool offers state-of-the-art early childhood education in a state-of-the-art facility. That’s because we believe that education begins in the early years. It’s not just us—it’s long been known that the earlier you begin teaching children their letters, colors, and numbers—just for example—the better they’ll do in school. We try to give our young Little Star participants lots of practice with all these skills and more.

Our warm, caring, capable, and experienced educators work to bring each child to their fullest potential. Little Star teachers use the New York State core curriculum, but supplement these lessons in other, exciting ways to stimulate young minds. Current events, nature, trips, and special presentations all add to our Little Star children’s understanding of the world they live in.

Center-Based Learning at Little Star

Little Star utilizes center-based education to create a richer learning environment. Each learning center is interactive, for a fuller learning experience. The learning centers are age-appropriate with each one focused on specific skills preschoolers need to master in order to flourish and succeed in their learning journey.

Children attending Little Star range from age 2-5. Students are divided by age, with each classroom offering age-appropriate learning activities. All of our students partake of the following offerings: letter of the week, circle time, story time, free play, dramatic play, art, aerobics, and more.

High Teacher-Student Ratio

Little Star parents appreciate that we have a high teacher-to-student ratio. They know their children are in good hands when they drop off their “Little Stars” for the day. One mother gave the following glowing testimony, and we think it says it all:

Last year, our daughter was in the 4-year-old class. At Little Star not only did she gain confidence and learn to interact with classmates, but by the spring she could recognize numbers up to 100 and knew all of the letters of [the alphabet]. Little Star’s program helped her make a smooth transition to kindergarten. The teachers are friendly, competent and caring and they provide a stimulating and welcoming environment.

Glowing testimonials aside, it’s easy to see we’re on the right track with our Little Star students. Our main goal for these little ones is to provide a positive learning environment. As you can see from the following photos, not only are our preschoolers learning according to and often ahead of schedule, but they’re happy, which to us, is the most important thing of all—we want every child to feel positive about learning in the classroom:
