Coronavirus is grabbing all the headlines, so is it any wonder someone made a coronavirus-shaped car called the, um, “Corona Car?” And who better to create the Corona Car than the guy whose last name ends with “kar,” Kanyaboyina Sudhakar, of the Sudha Cars Museum of Hyderabad, India. The six-wheeled, virus-shaped car can travel at a speed of up to 25 mph. (The virus travels faster, to everyone’s sorrow.)
Sudhakar says he designed the eye-catching (hopefully not catching) vehicle to raise awareness of the need for social distancing. “I have always made cars to give back to the society in my own way on different occasions for different causes. Now, at this time, it is important to tell people to stay home and stay safe and the coronavirus car is meant to convey the message,” explained Sudhakar, who says the car took about ten days to build.
The Corona Car seats just one passenger, has a 100cc engine and a fiber body. “Sudha Cars museum has always produced cars to give back to the society in our own way for various causes. This time to spread awareness about Covid-19 and to encourage people to stay at home I have made the coronavirus car. I urge people to respect the lockdown and not come out of their houses,” said Sudhakar who, not coincidentally, holds a Guinness World Record for creating the world’s largest tricycle, in 2005.
